Building Systems of Trust: Essence for Successful Outcomes
The hour of sharing will allow attendees to learn the importance of ‘lived experience’ and why systems of care must have parents/caregivers and youth, ‘not just sitting at the table’ rather, engaged as equal partners. In addition, ‘trust’ is essential in building an effective system of care, where all children/youth, emerging adults and families have access to high quality care in achieving successful outcomes.

Janet enjoys building relationships and creating open dialog. A parent to three, Janet willingly shares her epic parenting fears, woes and fails as experiential examples of how perspective matters. Working with the State of Idaho, Janet facilitates understanding the fundamental paradigm shift necessary to successfully transform our system of care into a system that truly cares for those it serves. Throughout the last six years, Janet has collaborated to transform the design, implementation and outcomes of the Idaho Youth Empowerment Service (YES) System of Care. She has shared her real-life experience raising children with suicidality and severe developmental disabilities to foster understanding, encourage conversation, and improve access to care.
Recently, Janet has joined with the Praed Foundation to provide parent perspective in training and workforce development issues relating to the CANS, ANSA, FAST, RISE, CAT and SSIT tools.
In her other life, Janet is the founder and owner of WillowTree Mosaics, a comprehensive medical billing services company for pediatric therapists. It is Janet’s sincerest desire to foster open dialogs and collaboratively address the challenges mental health presents to our families, our communities and our state agencies.
